Rest Peacefully Dr. Marjorie L. Harris

It is with deep sorrow that we notify you of the passing of Dr. Marjorie L. Harris. We were notified by Soror Lyndia Grant, President of the Gamma Phi Delta Foundation, last night.

Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they become available! Please do not overwhelm the family with calls and visits at this time. We will notify you as soon as the family has made final arrangements and will provide the address where cards and other expressions of sympathy may be sent.

Dr. Harris, our Living Pearl, is a direct descendant of our founders of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. She is the daughter of co-founder, Dr. Violet T. Lewis, sister of Dr. Phyllis Ponders and the niece of co-founder Elizabeth Garner. She was a proud member of Alpha Chapter, Northern Region and Dr. Harris was a charter member of the Gamma Phi Delta Foundation.

Please let us continue to keep the family lifted in prayer now and in the coming days.

Above is the message sent from our Supreme Basileus. On May 9th, our beloved Dr. Harris suffered a severe stroke. The news were sent to all chapter members to keep her in everyone's prayers. On May 17th, Dr. Harris gained her wings. We thank Dr. Harris for continuing her mother's legacy & for all of her impactful work. She will be deeply missed.
